- What is CLEAR?
CLEAR
is super fast wireless internet. CLEAR uses WiMAX 4G technology to turn
entire cities into wireless internet hotspots so you can get online at
home, on the go or both. CLEAR 4G wireless internet delivers speeds
equivalent to DSL and Cable modem speeds you would get at home.
- How is CLEAR Home different
from CLEAR Mobile?
The CLEAR Home Modem plugs into your home computer
and the wall to deliver super fast internet speeds. You can plug it into
a wireless router to create a wireless hotspot throughout your home or
bring it with you anywhere in the CLEAR coverage area, plug it in and
get online. The CLEAR USB Modem for on-the-go use is small enough to fit
in your pocket. Simply plug it into your laptop and get super fast
wireless internet anywhere in the CLEAR coverage area.
- Is CLEAR easy to set up?
Yes.
With CLEAR, there's no installation, no scheduling appointments and no
phone lines required. You simply plug the CLEAR modem into your home
computer or laptop and get online.
- How secure is the CLEAR
network?
CLEAR
runs on an extremely secure network using WiMAX 4G technologies. WiMAX
broadcasts in a licensed spectrum using OFDM technology. This technology
uses a licensed 2.5 Ghz frequency and ensures secure wireless data
transmission.
- How fast is CLEAR Mobile
and CLEAR Home?
CLEAR On-the-Go Internet uses 4G WiMax technology and
is 4x faster than today's 3G wireless technology. CLEAR Home uses 4G
WiMax technology and is as fast most home broadband connections.

- Is CLEAR available in my
area?

coverage is expanding to new cities every day. Check our current CLEAR
coverage and call today if you want to be contacted when CLEAR 4G
wireless internet comes to your area.
- Can I get CLEAR internet
coverage throughout my house?
Yes.
By connecting your CLEAR modem to a wireless router, you will get a
wireless internet connection throughout your house. You can also
purchase CLEAR Spot to make your entire home wireless.
- What happens if I go
outside of the CLEAR coverage area?
You
can access CLEAR 4G internet anywhere in the CLEAR
coverage area. Our coverage is quickly expanding, making more cities
part of the CLEAR network. You can also purchase the CLEAR Internet +
Modem. You'll get 4G speeds in network, and when you go outside the
network, you can get online with reliable 3G speeds.
- What devices are
compatible with CLEAR?
All
CLEAR devices are specifically constructed to work with the CLEAR WiMAX
network. Call 1-877-840-1299 to order the CLEAR home modem, the CLEAR
USB modem or the CLEAR telephone adapter.
- I ordered CLEAR. When do I
get the equipment?
Call us at 1-877-840-1299 today to order your CLEAR
package and all your equipment. If you place your order by 4 p.m.
(EST) today, we'll get it to you by tomorrow. Everything is shipped to
you via UPS overnight. Orders placed after 3 p.m. on Fridays and
weekends will be shipped Monday for Tuesday delivery.
- How can I tell if my
CLEAR service has been activated?
You will receive an order confirmation page once
you finish the activation process. Open a browser and go to your
favorite web site. If you can connect to the site, your CLEAR modem is
active. If you are re-directed to the CLEAR website, there was a problem
with the activation. Wait 5 minutes and check your connection. If it
still won't connect, restart your computer and check the connection or
contact CLEAR at 1-866-387-5060 between 9am and 10pm 7 days a week.
CLEAR E-mail Accounts and Monitoring Usage
- What is the best way to monitor
my data usage?
Our most popular
plans come with unlimited monthly data usage. If you choose a plan
with usage limits, checking your usage is easy. Visit CLEAR.com and
login under My Account. Your usage information is available in the My
Services section. CLEAR on-the-go users can also check their usage with
the CLEAR Connection Manager. CLEAR will e-mail you if you're close to
reaching your limit.
- How easy is it to get a CLEAR.net
e-mail address?
You get
two FREE CLEAR.net e-mail addresses when you sign up for a CLEAR
commitment service plan. Additional CLEAR.net e-mail addresses are
available to all customers for $3.00/month. You can also set up your
CLEAR e-mail address to work with Outlook, Blackberry, AppleMail and
more.
CLEAR VOICE
- What is CLEAR Voice?
CLEAR
Voice is a Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology that uses a
broadband internet connection to make phone calls instead of using a
regular/analog phone line. Your traditional phone is connected through a
phone adapter which is then connected to the CLEAR modem. With CLEAR
Voice, you can make local and long distance calls, use features like
call forward and call blocking, check voicemails through your e-mail
account and much more.
- What is VoIP technology?
Voice-over-Internet
Protocol technology converts phone calls into data that transmits
through your CLEAR high-speed internet service.
- How does CLEAR Voice compare to
my regular telephone service?
Using
CLEAR Voice is essentially the same as using your regular telephone -
but CLEAR Voice has much more to offer. The service includes features
like Call Waiting and Call Display, new features like Additional
Numbers, Call Forwarding Plus, and Voicemail to e-mail.
- Does is matter if the person I'm
calling does not have CLEAR Voice?
No. You can use CLEAR Home Voice the same way you would use
your regular phone service. *Note: Currently, CLEAR Home Voice does not
support incoming collect calls, and outgoing 976, 900, 10-10 dial
around, or N11 calls.
- Can I get online and make phone
calls at the same time?
Yes,
with CLEAR Voice you can browse the internet and make telephone calls at
the same time.
- What equipment comes with the
CLEAR Voice Adapter?

- What is required to set up my
CLEAR Voice service?
You must
have the following equipment in order to use your CLEAR Voice service:
- CLEAR High-Speed Internet Service
- A regular telephone (corded or cordless) with telephone
cord
- A personal computer with a Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5
(version 5.0 for Macintosh) or higher, or Netscape 7 or higher
NOTE: The computer is required for set up and account
activation. You do not need it to make phone calls.
- What areas are covered with CLEAR
unlimited long distance calling under the Clear Voice plan?
Calls to
all of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico are covered under the plan.
- Is it easy to receive voicemails
through my e-mail account?
Yes.
Voicemails are sent as WAVE (.WAV) attachments to your email account.
You can listen to messages as frequently as you want and even send them
to friends online.
